About...
Me:
I grew up in Burlington and moved back to Vermont after receiving my M.F.A. from the Rinehart School of Sculpture Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
I now live in Winooski with my partner and our cat and dog.
Vermont Fall Ceramics:
My ceramic work used to be more figurative. But once I began working in what I call the "Splinter" carving design, it became more about the process than the form. The "Splinter" design is the tree like interlacing pattern that makes up each Vermont Fall Ceramics piece. These trees were my go-to doodles for years and one day I had the idea to try incorporating it into my ceramics. I found that hand drawing the design and then hand carving it was a meditative process and as I continued using the process it became less about using the design to make a form and more about using a form to make the design.

Vermont Fall Knits:
I was first introduced to knitting at an after-school program in middle school. After that initial instruction I like to say that Youtube taught me the rest. Just like in my Ceramic work the process is what I love the most in my knitting. I like to experiment by always trying new yarns, colors, and patterns. Each project is an individual experience to make and I have yet to knit the same piece twice.
